The uMshwathi Regional Bulk Water Supply Scheme Phase 2 was delivered for uMngeni uThukela Water, formerly uMngeni Water, as part of a broader regional water supply programme in KwaZulu-Natal. The project included the construction of major concrete water-retaining infrastructure and pump station facilities to support reliable supply between Wartburg and Dalton.
The works centred on a reinforced concrete reservoir, two bulk water booster pump stations, associated chambers, pipework, mechanical installations, and supporting civil infrastructure. Delivery required careful coordination between concrete construction, pump station works, mechanical equipment, and pipeline interfaces across multiple work fronts.
The completed project strengthened the regional bulk water network and reflects Icon Construction’s capability in delivering substantial reservoir and pump station infrastructure that supports long-term community and municipal growth.
