The Pacaltsdorp West Circular Reservoir, Pumpstation and Associated Infrastructure project was delivered for George Municipality in the Western Cape. The project involved the construction of a new circular reservoir, pump station, chambers and interconnecting pipelines to strengthen potable water storage and transfer capacity for the Pacaltsdorp West area.
The works included reservoir inlet, outlet, scour and overflow infrastructure, pump station construction, pipeline connections, valve chambers, mechanical and electrical works, telemetry, control and instrumentation, flow, level and pressure transmitters, interconnecting fibre, and commissioning. Delivery required careful coordination between water-retaining concrete construction, pumping infrastructure, pipework and specialist M&E systems.
The completed project provides important additional municipal water infrastructure for the George area and demonstrates Icon Construction’s ability to deliver integrated reservoir and pump station projects with the civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation components required for long-term operational reliability.
