The Middledrift SSA3 Bulk Pipeline and Reservoir project was delivered for King Cetshwayo District Municipality under Nkandla Local Municipality in KwaZulu-Natal. The project formed part of a regional water supply initiative to improve bulk water storage and transfer capacity in the Middledrift area.
The works included completion, testing, and commissioning of bulk pipeline and reservoir infrastructure, together with associated chambers, pipework, site works, and quality control activities. The rural location required careful planning around access, logistics, stakeholder engagement, and coordination between the client, engineer, and construction teams.
The completed infrastructure strengthened the local water supply system and demonstrates Icon Construction’s ability to deliver bulk and reticulation-related water infrastructure in remote and operationally demanding settings.
