The Lukwethu Regional Water Supply Scheme project was delivered for OR Tambo District Municipality in Ward 32 of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality. The project provided water reticulation infrastructure to Lower Qokana, Upper Qokana, Zimbane, and surrounding villages.
The works included water mains, chambers, valves, communal standpipes, testing, commissioning, and associated civil works across dispersed rural settlements. Construction required careful coordination of local access, community interfaces, SMME participation, and quality control across multiple work fronts.
The completed scheme improved access to water services for the surrounding communities and reflects Icon Construction’s experience in delivering rural reticulation infrastructure with practical planning and strong project coordination.
