The Kwanovuka Water Supply Scheme Phase B was delivered for uMgungundlovu District Municipality near Impendle in KwaZulu-Natal. The project formed part of a broader water supply programme to improve potable water infrastructure for rural communities in the area.
The works included a reinforced concrete reservoir, abstraction works, water treatment plant infrastructure, reticulation pipelines, a rising main, metered standpipes, and associated civil structures. Construction required careful coordination across dispersed sites, with attention to access, testing, commissioning, and integration of the different components of the water supply system.
The completed project improved local water supply infrastructure and demonstrates Icon Construction’s capability in delivering combined civil, pipeline, treatment, and reticulation works in rural environments.
