The Jamestown Bucket Eradication and Sanitation project was delivered for Joe Gqabi District Municipality in the Eastern Cape. The project provided new sewer reticulation infrastructure to Jamestown and Masakhane, supporting the move from bucket sanitation to a waterborne sewer system.
The works included sewer pipelines, manholes, house connections and associated reticulation infrastructure across the project area. Construction required careful planning through residential streets and community spaces, with attention to access, reinstatement, quality control, and coordination with municipal stakeholders.
The completed scheme delivered a meaningful improvement in sanitation services for the community and reflects Icon Construction’s ability to deliver socially important infrastructure with care, discipline, and reliability.
