The Durban Point Water and Sewer Infrastructure project was delivered for the Durban Point Development Company as part of infrastructure upgrades in the Point area of the Durban CBD. The project provided new bulk water and sewer services to support continued development within the precinct.
The works were carried out within roadways and sidewalks in a built-up urban environment, requiring careful traffic management, public access control, and coordination around existing services. Ground conditions in the Point area required shoring and dewatering for excavations, with some trenching taking place below the natural water table.
The completed infrastructure supported the ongoing development of Durban Point and demonstrates Icon Construction’s experience in deep excavation, service coordination, and municipal infrastructure delivery in sensitive urban settings.
