The Ashley Drive Break Pressure Tank project was delivered for eThekwini Water & Sanitation as part of Durban’s bulk water infrastructure network. The project involved the construction of a large reinforced concrete break pressure tank with associated chambers, pipelines, access roads, and service infrastructure.
The works required deep excavations, major concrete construction, large-diameter pipe installation, under-drainage systems, tie-ins, and careful work near existing site constraints. Strong planning and coordination were needed to manage the civil, pipeline, mechanical, and electrical elements of the project safely and efficiently.
The completed facility strengthened the city’s bulk water distribution system and demonstrates Icon Construction’s experience in delivering durable water-retaining structures and associated infrastructure for critical municipal services.
