The Alberton Southcrest Reservoir project was delivered for the City of Ekurhuleni in Gauteng. The project involved the construction of a reinforced concrete reservoir and associated infrastructure to support municipal water storage and distribution in the Alberton area.
The works included reservoir construction, engineered layers, drainage, inlet and outlet chambers, pipework, access roadworks, tie-ins, and commissioning activities. Construction required careful management of rock excavation, post-tensioning, high wall construction, and dome roof works to achieve the required quality and performance standards.
The completed reservoir provides strengthened water storage capacity for the area and reflects Icon Construction’s capability in delivering substantial water-retaining infrastructure with disciplined construction control and attention to long-term durability.
