Adams Mission Reservoir Trunk Main

Bulk Transfers & Pipelines

The Adams Mission Reservoir Trunk Main project was delivered for eThekwini Municipality Water and Sanitation in KwaZulu-Natal. The project involved the construction of a new gravity main between Adams Mission Reservoir K5 and Adams Mission Reservoir K2, strengthening bulk water transfer within the Adams Mission area.

The works included steel and mPVC pipeline installation, associated air valve, scour, meter and isolation chambers, reservoir inlet and outlet connections, directional drilling beneath the R603, stream crossings, cathodic protection, shoring, dewatering, and restricted excavations. Construction required careful management through a low-lying wetland and within a provincial road servitude on a steep embankment.

The completed trunk main improved the reliability of water transfer between key reservoir assets and demonstrates Icon Construction’s ability to deliver pipeline infrastructure in constrained and environmentally sensitive settings.
